Private Poker Lounges

Here is the latest feature at Triplejack, Private Poker Lounges. For the first time ever, anyone with a web site or blog can have their own private poker lounge where they can invite their friends to play poker. This feature lets you manage your own games or tourneys and play with only the pople you want to play with.

Here is my lounge:

Of course the only people who have access to my lounge are from my little ole blog so it is not likely you will run into anyone, but you get the idea.

Yahoo!'s inconsistent advertising policies.

So I am trying to advertise Triplejack in Yahoo! and as expected, they deny my listing thinking that Triplejack is gambling related. Since it is not, it is a free poker game with no real money wagering, I go through the whole song and dance about why it is not gambling and so on and it is free and so on... The same story I gave to Google and Google said oh yeah, makes sense and approved our listings.

Yahoo! on the other hand has done no such thing. After talking to 4 different peons and 2 so-called supervisors, they still insist that Triplejack can not advertise in Yahoo! because of their gambling pilicies. The problem here is, that there are at least 4 or 5 other poker game sites advertised in Yahoo! and most of them are pay sites, not even free.

So what is the deal here? Is Yahoo! that dis-organized that they don't even know their own policies? Who approved the other ad listings?

I continue by telling them they can not get rid of me that easily. As long as those other sites are listed, I will continue to contact them daily to plead my case.

So here we go:

Day 1: Supervisor - Chris Santino

"I am sorry, but I can not approve your listing because your site is a gambling web site. Blah blah blah, Our site is free. blah, blah bla, It does not matter, poker is gambling so we can not list it. I go on to ask why the other sites are there, he goes on to tell me he will look into it."

Day 2: Supervisor - Amanda Vaughn

"Pretty much the same as above, except she thanks me for providing the information I provided the previous day and tells me that although she can not share any information about other advertisers, they will look into it and deal with it appropriately. She goes on to apologize for not being able to list our 'gambling' web site, even though it is free"

This is tiring stuff.

Will update shortly.

Day 3: Supervisor - Chris Santino

Today I waited on hold for 10 minutes while someone tried to figure out who Chris Santino is. For a while I was afriad he was a fictitious character made up to throw me off, but she supposedly found him and threw me into his voicemail. I left a friendly message just touching base with him about my situation and asked for a call back at his earliest convenience.

Until tomorrow...

Comments welcome. I am curious if others have had difficulty like this.

Some Excitement and ramblings...

OK, so I am watching the 2006 WSOP on ESPN and see Daniel Negreanu just about to get knocked out of the tournament and he starts talking to the player about to knock him out about how bad it would be to knock out Daniel Negreanu and how he will get boo'd and people will throw tomatoes and eggs at him for this... I am hearing this and getting a kick out of the fact that he just talked about throwing eggs and tomatoes not realizing, I'm sure, that this exact feature exists in TripleJack Poker, which I am part owner in.

I can't wait til he someday learns about TripleJack and says to himself, "Hey this is hilarious, I can't believe I can now throw eggs, tomatoes and even pies at people for beating me in a hand". Are we changing the face of poker? :) Will we someday be able to do this at the Bellagio? :)

Speaking of TripleJack, last week was the official launch of the Power Player subscription service and with any luck we will be giving away some kick ass prizes in just a few weeks.

And my final rambling for today... iTunes sucks. They do all these "free song promos" with every brand in the book from Pepsi, to 7-11, but I can't seem to reach anyone in their corporate office that knows who to talk to about that. How the heck to they actually get anything done?

I'm out.

My First Post

Ok. Welcome to the official blog for David Finkelstein. Among other things, I am an entreprenuer and investor in a number of businesses including TripleJack.com, ContextuAds.com, DynaPrice.com, and I also invented a personal laser show system called LaserVibe.

When I am not playing poker, playing with lasers or figuring out ways to make money in advertising I am most likely kayaking or on vacation in Sanibel with my family.

Well, I guess that is enough of an introduction. As the world changes around me or I find something interesting, I will update this blog and let you know.
